MyFavoriteThingToday (MFTT) is committed to protecting your privacy. Our core philosophy is that your personal recordings and data should stay under your control. This policy explains how we handle your information within the App.

3. ON-DEVICE DATA PROCESSING & STORAGE

The primary functions of MFTT—including audio recording, speech-to-text transcription, and advanced keyword extraction—occur entirely locally on your device.

  • Local AI Engine: Keyword extraction and text analysis are powered by an on-device, local Large Language Model (Gemma). This model runs entirely within your device's hardware memory, and no data is sent to external AI servers.

  • Audio Recordings: Raw audio files are stored permanently on your device's local storage unless you choose to delete them.

  • Transcription & Keywords: All analysis is performed on-device. We do not upload your audio or transcripts to our servers for processing.

  • Profiles & Photos: Any photos used for profiles are stored locally and are not accessible by us.

4. THIRD-PARTY INTEGRATION & CLOUD SYNC

You have the choice to extend the functionality of MFTT through the following services:

  • Cloud Storage: You may optionally choose to sync your data to iCloud or Google Drive. If enabled, your data is governed by the privacy policies of Apple or Google, respectively.

  • Payments: Subscriptions are processed via Apple App Store or Google Play In-App Purchases. We do not collect or store your credit card information or billing address.

  • Crash Reporting & Stability: Our app uses Firebase Crashlytics provided by Google to monitor app crashes and technical issues. When a crash occurs, limited diagnostic information (e.g., device type, OS version) may be collected. This information does not personally identify users and is used only to improve the app’s stability.

5. PERMISSIONS WE REQUEST

To provide our services, MFTT requires access to:

  • Microphone: To record audio for transcription.

  • Speech Recognition: To convert audio into text on-device.

  • Camera/Photos: To allow you to create user profiles with images.

  • Contacts: To enable seamless sharing of transcripts or audio files via your native mail or text apps. MFTT processes this data strictly on-device to populate your local share sheet; we never upload, copy, or store your contact list on external servers.

  • Notifications: To send reminders to your home screen.

6. DATA RETAINMENT AND DELETION

MFTT does not maintain a central database of your personal information.

  • Local Data: You can delete specific recordings within the App.

  • Uninstalling: Removing the App will delete all data stored locally on your device.

  • Exporting: We provide functionality to export your data prior to app deletion.

  • Ceasing subscription: When subscription is ended, you will still be able to access and play your recordings. You will no longer be able to make new recordings.

7. FAMILY AND CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

MFTT is designed as a tool to be owned, downloaded, and managed exclusively by adults (such as parents or guardians). We do not knowingly solicit or centrally collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

Because the app may be used by an adult to capture and transcribe daily family or adult-child conversations, the app may process the voice and spoken words of children locally on the device. All such data is processed strictly on-device using our local AI engine, remains under the absolute control of the adult user, and is never transmitted to, stored by, or viewable by MyFavoriteThingToday.

Welcome to MyFavoriteThingToday ("MFTT," "the App," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

MFTT provides an application that allows users to record audio, generate speech-to-text transcriptions, and extract keywords from conversations. These processing features are powered by a local, on-device artificial intelligence model (Gemma) and are designed to function locally on the user's mobile device without relying on our cloud servers.

2. ELIGIBILITY

You must be at least 18 years of age, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to download and use this App. If you use the App to record or transcribe conversations involving minors (including your own children), you represent and warrant that you are the parent or legal guardian of such minors, or have obtained explicit consent from their legal guardian, and accept full responsibility for compliance with local recording laws.

3. USER CONTENT AND PRIVACY

  • Ownership: You retain ownership of all audio recordings, transcripts, text summaries, and images generated or stored within the App ("User Content").

  • Local Storage Only: You acknowledge that your User Content is stored locally on your device hardware (or your personal cloud backup provider, such as iCloud or Google Drive, if explicitly enabled by you).

  • No Server Backups: Because MFTT does not host, upload, or back up your User Content to its own servers, we cannot recover lost data for you if your device is lost, damaged, uninstalled, or cleared. You are entirely responsible for backing up your data.

4. PROHIBITED CONDUCT

You agree that you will not use the App to:

  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international laws, including but not limited to wiretapping, eavesdropping, and audio recording consent laws.

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or underlying architecture of the App or its integrated local AI engine.

  • Modify, adapt, or hack the App to falsely imply an association with another service or brand.

5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All rights, title, and interest in and to the App (excluding your personal User Content), including its design, interface, branding, and underlying code, are and will remain the exclusive property of MyFavoriteThingToday and its licensors.

6. SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PAYMENTS

  • Billing: Access to certain features of MFTT may require an active, paid subscription. Subscriptions are processed and managed securely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

  • Cancellations: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's store account settings. All refunds or payment disputes are handled according to the terms and platforms of Apple or Google respectively.

7. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. MFTT DOES NOT GUARANTY THAT TRANSCRIPTIONS OR AI-GENERATED KEYWORDS WILL BE 100% ACCURATE. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANDISABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

IN NO EVENT SHALL MYFAVORITETHINGTODAY, ITS DEVELOPERS, OR ITS OWNER(S) BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF USE, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (I) YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP; (II) THE ACCURACY OF LOCAL AI TRANSCRIPTIONS; OR (III) THE LOSS OF DEVICE STORAGE DATA.

9. CHANGES TO TERMS

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of these Terms or via an in-app alert. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
